The owner of Chequit acquires Jack’s Marine

Chequit owner Stacey Soloviev announced her purchase of Jack’s Marine, telling The Reporter the price was $ 3.8 million.

Ms Soloviev also said she was in the process of buying another business on the island, but did not disclose the target of her interests.

“I am really happy to be a part of the Shelter Island community – they have been so supportive of my restoration of the Chequit,” Ms. Soloviev said.

She won the support of the community with the Christmas celebration at Chequit, which is still under renovation.

Mike and Camille Anglin, owners of Jack’s, had recently announced that the business was about to be sold and that they were looking forward to having more time to travel and enjoy their lives.

Ms. Soloviev also owns Santa’s Christmas Tree Farm and Peconic Bay Vineyards, both located in Cutchogue. She offered a 40-room resort with a spa and retail operations on the wine property.

The purchase of Chequit was carried out together with the ex-husband of Mrs Soloviev, Stefan Soloviev. The Soloviev Group is also involved in the purchase of Jack’s.

The Anglins are helping Ms. Soloviev and her team with the transition.

Ryan Perry, who worked for Ms. Soloviev at Christmas Tree Farm, is Jack’s new manager. In a Facebook post, he thanked the islanders for the warm welcome they extended, inviting people to come or call with any questions.

“I’ll be more than happy to help or just sit back and chat,” he said.

“For now everything will remain as before, but as with all of our projects on Shelter Island, we will be speaking with the community to get their input and have their interests at heart in the future,” Ms. Soloviev said. “The community comes first. We are always in tune with the community and they will be the first to know of any changes.

No changes are planned at Jack’s as Ms. Soloviev is focusing her attention on the ongoing renovations at the Chequit.

The Anglins have typically closed for part of the winter, but the business is set to remain open this year, only closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
