‘Fallout’ TV series moves forward with ‘Westworld’ director Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy
HBOit is “The last of us” television series is currently filming, with Pedro Pascal (“The Mandalorian”) in the series as Joel and Bella Ramsey (“Game of Thrones”) as Ellie.
Additionally, Deadline reports this afternoon that Storm Reid (Euphoria, a shortcut in time) was cast as Riley, a character fans of the game should know.
Deadline explains: “Reid will play the role of Riley Abel. She is an orphan growing up in the post-apocalyptic city of Boston. In The Last of Us: Left Behind, a DLC of the original video game, Riley (originally voiced by Yaani King) accompanies and survives with her best friend Ellie before meeting Joel.
Kantemir Balagov (Bean) will direct the pilot episode of HBO’s “The Last of Us,” featuring Jasmila Zbanic (What’s up, Helpa) and Ali Abbassi (Frontierlisten)) also directing episodes.
Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) plays Tommy, the brother of Pascal’s Joel. Anna Torv, Jeffrey Pierce, Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett and Con O’Neil will also star in the series.
Merle Dandridge is back as “Marlene, leader of the Fireflies, a resistance movement fighting for freedom against an oppressive military regime”. She voiced the role in the games. Nico Parker will play Sarah, Joel’s daughter, who we met in the original game.
“The series takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to rescue 14-year-old Ellie from an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts out as a small job quickly becomes a brutal and harrowing journey as they both must cross the United States and depend on each other for survival.
Craig Mazin (“Chernobyl”) is developing the series for HBO, and he will work with Neil Druckman to write and produce the small-screen adaptation.
