Cops: Pair face multiple felony charges after traffic stop on Peconic Avenue
Riverhead Police report the arrest this morning of two people on multiple felony charges following a traffic stop on Peconic Avenue.
Police say the driver of the vehicle, Adam Hunstein, 33, of Bay Shore, was driving without a license and was in possession of crack cocaine. Hunstein’s license has been revoked, police said in a news release this afternoon.
During the investigation, Hunstein and his passenger, Colleen Brown, 32, of Flanders, were found in possession of stolen credit/debit cards, police said.
Hunstein was charged with five counts of fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a Class E felony; one count of felony possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor; one count of felony possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; and one count of aggravated driving without a license of a motor vehicle in the second degree, an unclassified misdemeanor, police said.
Brown was charged with five counts of fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a Class E felony and one count of fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a Class A misdemeanor. .
Hunstein and Brown were arrested and transported to the Riverhead Police Department for processing and held for arraignment, police said.
